Prof. Dr. Nasir Uddin

Prof. Dr. Nasir Uddin is one of the renowned maxillofacial surgeons and facial oncologists in Bangladesh. He served as Professor and Head of Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College & Hospital from 2019 to January 2024.
He obtained Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree from Dhaka Dental College and MS in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (MS in OMS) degree from Dhaka University.
He received the fellowship of Japan Dental Association in 1991 and completed advanced surgical training at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Osaka University, Japan .
He received training on facial plastic & reconstructive surgery in 2012 from the hospital for sick children, University of toronto, Canada.
He is an Expert on:
- Surgery & treatment of oral cancer, tumor, cyst, wound etc.
- Reconstruction surgery of facial deformity caused by cancer or tumor.
- Operation and treatment of accidental fractures of teeth & jaws and other bones.
- Treatment and operation of any serious infection of teeth & mouth.
- Congenital cleft lip and cleft palate operations.
- Operation and treatment of congenital deformities or anomalies of the face & jaws.
- Restoration of lost teeth by implant procedure.
- Treatment and operation of jaw joint problems.
Since the beginning of his teaching career, he presented scientific research papers in various national and international conferences (in different countries including Japan, America, Canada, India). He received the MODUS Award for his outstanding contribution and presentation on cleft lip, cleft pallate and nasal deformity at the Asian Congress on Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery held in Tokyo, Japan. He is an active professional of national & international organizations.
He is acting as Vice President of Bangladesh Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (BAMOS), Advisor of Bangladesh Academy of Dentistry International (BADI), Executive Committee Member of Bangladesh Oral Cancer Society (BOCS), Fellow of International Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons (IAOMS).
